Summary, pictures and thanks for each event are below;

2015 BUPA London 10K - Our first attempt at a caterpillar!

Bupa London 10K : 25th May 2015

A big shout out to all the members of the Action Duchenne 10K Caterpillar.

Not quite world record breaking this year, but with 35 people all tied together single file, it was quite a sight, and made the London Evening Standard.

Together the runners raised over £10,000

Well done to Dawn for the Caterpillar training and inspiration, Chris for design and build of the equipment and Paul from Action Duchenne for support and organising the entries.

Great Baydon Bakeoff - 2015

The Great Baydon Bake Off team would like to thank everyone who turned out on Saturday 7th March to support the 2nd Great Baydon Bakeoff

We smashed last year's total, and raised an amazing £850 for Action Duchenne!

The weather was lovely, and it was great to see so many people enjoying a drink out on the green whilst admiring all the wonderful entries.

This year we set a family quiz for people to do whilst the entries were being judged, and this along with a fantastic raffle, childrens colouring, and a well stocked bread stall, proved to be very popular.

The standard of baking was exceptional, and we were touched by the hard work all 47 entrants put into their bakes. The judges certainly had a hard time (if you can call it that when you are eating cake!), deciding on the winners. They just about managed it, and the placings were as follows:

 1st
 2nd3rd
Child (with parent)
Emma Cook
Layla Hancock
George Oliphant
 Under 16
 Olivia Clark
 Lucy Batrlett
Chalie Hallsworth
Adults
 Mary Oliphant
 Janet Bennett
 Vidar Noad

Congratulations to all!

We had generous sponsorship from many local businesses, but would particularly like to thank Debbie from Baydon Stores, Julie from The Red Lion, and Anthony Manley from Shepherds Bakery for their ongoing support.

The Great Baydon Bake Off will return next year, and ideas for next year's event so far include a 'best decorated cake' competition to run alongside the main classes, and we're working on the possibility of having some sort of expert demonstration at next year's event!

On behalf of the GBBO team, thank you all again for your support.

With grateful thanks to our generous sponsors, who donated bake off prizes and raffle prizes
