BUPA London 10K 2016 - Can the Caterpillar make the record books ?
Last year saw the very first 'Action Duchenne Caterpillar' successfully complete the BUPA London 10K, with a single file of 35 runners all tied together! It may not have been fast, but it certainly got the attention of the crowds and made it onto the London Evening Standard.
Not only did it raise a further £10,000 for research, but it does wonders for raising awareness of Duchenne.
This year the charity once again have places available, and we could go for a world record attempt if we can encourage other Duchenne charities to join with us - a publicity opportunity not to be missed.
The date for the run is 30th May 2016.
You don't have to be a serious runner, the caterpillar has been trained to keep pace with an inebriated omnivorous slug.
Some training is needed, the 10K will be completed at a jog - around 1 hour 20 for the 10K. We will once again have our trained caterpillar herding team (the motivational out runners!) to ensure that spirits a kept high and that all enjoy the event!
